For the first time since its acquisition by the Collection Cartier, Queen Elisabeth of Belgium’s stunning tiara is on public display at Cartier’s newly renovated boutique in Brussels. From November 15 to December 15, visitors can marvel at this exquisite jewel, a piece rich in history and regal elegance.
Renowned as the “Jeweler of Kings and King of Jewelers,” Cartier has long been synonymous with royal prestige. This tiara, originally crafted in 1910 and later adapted at Queen Elisabeth’s request, is a masterpiece of the guirlande style, featuring arabesque diamond patterns set in platinum. Worn by the Queen at countless significant events, including royal weddings, and immortalized in a portrait by Aram Alban, the tiara holds a special place in both Belgian and Cartier’s storied histories.
Cartier’s connection with the Belgian monarchy dates back over a century. In 1919, King Albert I granted the Maison the title of “Official Purveyor to the Royal Court of Belgium.” Today, the exhibit celebrates this enduring bond, offering a rare opportunity to admire a jewel of exceptional craftsmanship and historical importance.
