On International Women’s Day, Cartier and Expo 2025 Osaka proudly unveiled the Women’s Pavilion — a powerful global stage celebrating women’s influence, creativity, and leadership across generations and industries.
In partnership with the Japan Association for the 2025 World Exposition, the Japanese Government, and key ministries, this groundbreaking initiative places gender equality and sustainable innovation at the forefront of global dialogue.

Empowering Women, Empowering Humanity
At Cartier, women have always inspired change. The Maison’s long-standing commitment to female empowerment and collaborative progress fuels the heart of the Women’s Pavilion. Designed as a space for dialogue, creativity, and collective action, it invites visitors to reflect on the role women play in designing a better, more equitable world.
“When women thrive, humanity thrives, this Pavilion is a call to action — a space where everyone, regardless of gender, can be part of shaping our shared future.” – Cyrille Vigneron, Chairman of Cartier Culture and Philanthropy.
A Unique Experience at Expo 2025
Open from April 13 to October 13, 2025, the Women’s Pavilion aligns with Expo 2025 Osaka’s theme, “Designing Future Society for Our Lives.” Its message unfolds across three guiding themes:
- Living Together – Exploring symbiosis between people, society, and the planet
- Designing Together – Celebrating diversity and collaborative innovation
- For the Future – Sparking new ideas and forging a lasting legacy
The Pavilion will serve as a hub for interactive exhibitions, cultural storytelling, and visionary dialogue.

A Space Where Art Meets Purpose
Created by renowned architect Yuko Nagayama, the Pavilion’s Kumiko-inspired façade blends traditional Japanese aesthetics with sustainable design. Locally sourced trees will be replanted after the Expo, symbolizing nature’s regenerative cycle.
Inside, an immersive artistic journey curated by Es Devlin, with contributions from global talents like Naomi Kawase (
Japanese filmmaker), Mélanie Laurent (French actress, director and artist), Mariko Mori (multidisciplinary artist), (
Landscape designer) Toshiya Ogino and Chitose Abe (Designer and Creative Director), transforms each visit into a deeply personal yet universal experience.
Visitors are invited to “donate” their names, becoming part of the narrative — a symbolic gesture highlighting the power of identity, memory, and collective storytelling.

WA Space: Where Global Minds Meet
On the Pavilion’s second floor, the WA Space becomes a vibrant forum for forward-thinking conversations. With panels and exhibitions covering six key areas — Mother Nature, Business & Technology, Education & Policy, Arts & Culture, Philanthropy, and Identity — it brings together leaders, creators, and changemakers to inspire real-world solutions.

A Global Legacy in the Making
Following its acclaimed debut at Expo 2020 Dubai, the Women’s Pavilion in Osaka continues to expand its global impact. This isn’t just an exhibition — it’s a movement. A call to reimagine the future through the lens of inclusion, equity, and shared humanity.
