Design legacy

With Morpho, renowned music festival Tomorrowland expands from the ephemeral into a lasting architectural legacy through a collection of design furniture and objects set to debut at Salone del Mobile in Milan. Designed by Great Library Design Studio under the creative direction of Antwerp-based architect Dieter Vander Velpen, Morpho follows landmark projects such as the Tomorrowland headquarters in Antwerp, Lab of Tomorrow in Boom, and the acclaimed Mesa restaurant. This new chapter extends the Tomorrowland experience to leisure and lifestyle environments. The collection, created in collaboration with a selection of iconic Belgian brands, will feature home and garden furniture, along with planters, and kitchen and bathroom fixtures.

Belgian collaboration

For its world premiere, Morpho joins forces with three celebrated Belgian brands. Ethnicraft, a design furniture label known for its expert craftsmanship, transforms abstract ideas into tangible, intricate furniture pieces. Atelier Vierkant, renowned for handcrafted ceramics, merges art and nature to create a collection of distinctive planters. Brussels-based RVB brings their expertise in high-end faucets, translating nature’s delicate forms into refined kitchen and bathroom fixtures.

Nature’s influence

Nature stands as Morpho’s foremost muse—in both its perfection and imperfection. Embracing a contemporary art nouveau style, the brand draws inspiration from natural patterns, colors, and materials, harmoniously merging the serenity of the outdoors with modern design functionality. Influences from Belgian art nouveau architects like Victor Horta and Spanish modernista visionary Antoni Gaudí are deeply woven into the design process.

Organic forms

A fantastical dragonfly serves as the main muse for Morpho’s first collection. The creature’s wing pattern appears in the metal detailing of the signature chair. Its form reemerges in the bar stool’s shape, the embroidery on the leather-backed lounge chair, and the sunbed’s frame. The roots and branches of trees provided additional inspiration, with their twisting organic forms influencing the design of the collection’s table, lounge bed, sun loungers, and planters. Voronoi patterns found in nature inspired the tabletop carved from natural stone, while fluid woodwork and sculpted metal frames highlight artisanal skill and precision. The faucet line features a bubble motif inspired by water. This see-through pattern in the metal casing subtly reveals a hammered texture beneath, creating a visual interplay between softness and strength.

Echoing the endless variety of nature, Morpho offers broad flexibility in material choices. By combining wood, metal, natural stone, leather, and fabric, each piece can be uniquely tailored to individual homes. The collection invites a sense of wonder and balance, blending organic elegance with contemporary design and timeless craftsmanship.
