The pieces in this metaphorical Dior Cruise collection fuse fashion history and contemporary syntax. Masculine vests with delicate lapels are paired with long, full skirts and tailcoats. Dresses in very fine lace or contrasted with bas-relief patterns are combined with military jackets with black edges and detailed buttons.
An Ode to Italian Icons
Certain dresses are reminiscent of chasubles, while black and red velvet pay homage to the Fontana sisters, who conceived Anita Ekberg’s outfits in La Dolce Vita.
