Jaeger-LeCoultre presents the fourth capsule in its acclaimed The Collectibles series — a curated selection of 10 exceptional vintage women’s watches, each featuring the revolutionary Duoplan movement. Released alongside a new edition of the The Collectibles book, this capsule celebrates a century of innovation in fine watchmaking.
A Legacy of Excellence: 17 Iconic Timepieces, One Historic Volume
At the heart of The Collectibles lies an enduring mission: to bring together Jaeger-LeCoultre’s most emblematic creations for collectors and connoisseurs. This new capsule includes 10 of the most sought-after ladies’ watches created between the 1920s and 1970s — all featuring the legendary Duoplan or Calibre 101 movements. These masterpieces form part of a broader collection of 17 iconic models celebrated in the accompanying book, which offers in-depth insights into the Maison’s groundbreaking creations such as the Reverso, Memovox, Futurematic, and Geophysic.
Celebrating 100 Years of the Duoplan Movement
First patented in 1925, the Duoplan was a technical marvel that achieved exceptional miniaturization without compromising reliability — a breakthrough that transformed the design of women’s watches forever. This innovation culminated in the introduction of Calibre 101 in 1929, the smallest mechanical movement ever made and still in production today.
This latest capsule collection honors that legacy with 10 extraordinary timepieces. From Art Deco cocktail watches set with diamonds to avant-garde creations from the 1940s and 1950s, each piece represents a chapter in Jaeger-LeCoultre’s commitment to blending horological precision with aesthetic refinement.
Featured Timepieces: From Art Deco Elegance to Haute Joaillerie
Highlights of the collection include:
- Duoplan Tubogas (circa 1950): A yellow gold secret watch featuring bold architectural lines.
- Duoplan Chaîne (circa 1941): Set on a wide-link yellow gold bracelet for timeless sophistication.
- High Jewelry Secret Watch (1960): Crafted in white gold and adorned with diamonds and sapphires, powered by Calibre 101.
- Duoplan Tuile (1939): With a unique convex crystal reminiscent of Mediterranean roof tiles.
- Duoplan Driver (1930s): A steel model with a perpendicular dial, designed for easy reading while driving.
Expert Authentication and Museum-Quality Restoration
Each timepiece in The Collectibles has undergone a meticulous process of authentication and restoration by Jaeger-LeCoultre’s dedicated Heritage team. Leveraging original blueprints and, when necessary, recreating parts with original tools, the brand ensures historical integrity and optimal functionality. While movements are carefully overhauled, case and dial restorations are kept to a minimum to preserve each piece’s vintage character.
Every watch includes:
- Original box, papers, and bracelet when available
- An official Jaeger-LeCoultre Archive Extract
- A signed copy of The Collectibles book
- A new leather strap (unless featuring an original integrated bracelet)
