Created in partnership with Gulf, this new limited-edition chronograph reconnects with the golden age of motorsport and the cinematic legacy that cemented the TAG Heuer Monaco’s iconic status. Limited to just 971 pieces, this edition transports us back to 1971, the year the film Le Mans was released, immersing us in the roar of race car engines as Steve McQueen built his legend behind the wheel of his Porsche 917K. When it debuted in 1969, the TAG Heuer Monaco redefined what a chronograph could be. Its bold square design, sharp angles, and left-side crown made a statement in a world dominated by round cases. The Monaco quickly transitioned from racetrack to silver screen, famously worn by Steve McQueen in Le Mans, forever linking the watch to motorsport’s golden era and cinematic legend. Over the decades, the Monaco has evolved while remaining true to its racing DNA. The Gulf livery—vivid blue and orange—is one of the most recognizable visual identities in motorsport. The Monaco Chronograph x Gulf features a refined silver-grained dial adorned with Gulf’s signature vertical stripes, a nod to McQueen’s racing suit, and the Gulf logo beneath the hands. The use of the vintage Heuer logo subtly underscores the historical character of this limited edition. The case is crafted from sandblasted Grade 2 titanium with a matte, textured finish inspired by automotive garages and paddocks. Its 39mm size remains faithful to the original Monaco’s dimensions, while the titanium adds modernity and lightness. The white Nomex® textile strap—supplied by Hinchman, the original manufacturer of the Le Mans racing suits—completes the authentic racing heritage, with a second perforated blue calfskin strap offering a classic alternative.

Inspired by the iconic Heuer stopwatches of the 1960s and 1970s, the Monaco Chronograph Stopwatch pays tribute to the brand’s deep roots in motorsport timing. The watch draws on the design codes that made Heuer’s chronographs the ultimate instruments for racing circuits, returning to the essence of what defined Formula 1 timing. The dial features the original Heuer color palette—black, white, and red—directly referencing the precision instruments that defined motorsport timing. Its black circular center contrasts with a silver opaline background for maximum readability, highlighted by a red minute track. Sub-dials with white hands and markers ensure instant legibility, while the red lacquered chronograph hand creates a striking focal point. The vintage Heuer logo, printed in white, anchors the watch in its heritage. The lightweight, durable case is crafted from black DLC-coated grade 2 titanium, offering a contemporary take on the iconic Monaco silhouette. The left-side crown remains a defining feature. The watch is presented on a perforated black calfskin strap—an homage to the gloves worn by generations of racing drivers—and comes in a dedicated box with a matching travel pouch.
