Rolls-Royce introduces Phantom Arabesque, the world’s first motor car with a laser-engraved bonnet, a groundbreaking commission by Private Office Dubai. This one-of-one Phantom Extended pays homage to the Middle East’s Mashrabiya latticework, blending architectural heritage with pioneering craft. From intricate marquetry to hand-painted motifs, it sets a new benchmark in Bespoke luxury.
Mashrabiya latticework defines traditional Middle Eastern architecture, offering privacy, airflow and natural cooling through carved wooden screens. Rolls-Royce captures its geometric elegance and cultural depth in Phantom Arabesque. This design language resonates across palaces and courtyards, now reimagined in automotive form.

Laser Engraving Breakthrough
After five years of development, Rolls-Royce patents a laser-engraving technique inspired by Italian sgraffito, etching Mashrabiya patterns 145 to 190 microns deep into the bonnet’s surface. A darker base layer peeks through lighter top coats, creating a three-dimensional effect that shifts with light. Artisans hand-sand each area for sculptural perfection and enduring refinement.

Exterior Bespoke Elegance
The two-tone Diamond Black and Silver finish highlights the engraved bonnet, paired with an illuminated Pantheon Grille in Dark Chrome. A hand-painted Short Coachline features Mashrabiya motifs, while the uplit Spirit of Ecstasy and 22-inch part-polished wheels complete the poised silhouette. Subtle motifs recur across the body, inviting tactile discovery.

Gallery Marquetry Centrepiece
Inside, the Gallery showcases Blackwood and Bolivar marquetry mirroring Mashrabiya geometry, framed by an offset clock in a dark hue. This full-width artwork elevates the dashboard with restrained sophistication. It serves as the interior’s focal point, harmonizing tradition with modern precision.

Serene Interior Restraint
Selby Grey and Black leathers with Black piping and carpets create cool composure, accented by embroidered Mashrabiya motifs on headrests. Starlight Doors gleam with Grey piping and Black stitching, while illuminated treadplates reveal bonnet engraving cross-sections. Every detail whispers luxury through subtle innovation.

Cultural Craft Legacy
Phantom Arabesque emerges from Private Office Dubai, one of Rolls-Royce’s elite commissioning hubs, honoring regional identity with global artistry. The motifs appear as hand-painted, embroidered and illuminated elements throughout. Delivered to a Middle Eastern collector, it pioneers techniques for future Bespoke visions.

Future of Rolls-Royce Innovation
This commission expands the marque’s craft vocabulary, merging heritage with cutting-edge methods like laser engraving from the Exterior Surface Centre. Phantom Arabesque invites exploration by eye and hand, embodying privacy, light and airflow in motion. It stands as a timeless tribute to architectural beauty and automotive excellence.
