The city of Mons proudly presents the second edition of Mons en Lumières, Wallonia’s largest light festival! Mark your calendar for January 30 to February 2, 2025, and February 6 to 9, 2025, to experience this spectacular event.

After a successful first edition, Mons en Lumières is back in early 2025 for its second run. For eight evenings—from January 30 to February 2 and from February 6 to 9—the city of Mons will be transformed by a stunning 3-kilometer light trail, featuring around twenty installations. This year, the festival theme, “Between Earth and Sky,” creates a poetic dialogue between nature and the universe. The guest of honor is Japanese artist Tadashi Kawamata, renowned for his impressive installations using natural materials.

Supported by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), Mons en Lumières offers a unique experience, inviting the public to follow a fascinating and enchanting route with around twenty installations and light projections. These works are carefully designed in collaboration with artists and local and regional businesses to harmonize with the urban setting and the architecture of Mons’s historic center. The city will be illuminated by these creations, immersing visitors in a magical, captivating atmosphere.

Accessible to all and completely free, the trail will feature works by local, national, and international talents, including a special installation by guest artist Tadashi Kawamata.
This program is part of the 2021-2027 ERDF initiative “En Mieux.”
