Mercedes-AMG has set the stage for a new era of performance with two extraordinary machines sharing one technological DNA. Following last year’s buzz around the Concept AMG GT Track Sport, enthusiasts wondered how the radical prototype would fit into the AMG GT family. The answer has now arrived: it serves as the foundation for two extreme performance cars, the next-generation Mercedes-AMG GT3 and the future Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series.
According to Michael Schiebe, Member of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz Group AG and CEO of Mercedes-AMG GmbH, both models embody AMG’s relentless pursuit of maximum performance:
We’re developing the most extreme Black Series ever made, and at the same time setting the stage for our next GT3 record-breaker in motorsport. The Concept AMG GT Track Sport represents our drive to push boundaries, on the racetrack and on the road.
Michael Schiebe

A Shared Promise of Uncompromising Performance
The twin AMG models symbolize Affalterbach’s ambition to redefine limits in both customer racing and road-going performance. The street-legal version of the concept acts as the homologation model for the next GT3, while the “Track Sport” name bridges pure racing capability with the extreme yet street-approved spirit long associated with AMG’s Black Series lineup. Since October 2025, prototypes have undergone rigorous dynamic tests on circuits such as Bilster Berg, Portimão, and Monteblanco, ahead of the current phase at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Distinct color accents also mark the division between race and road: red for the GT3 and yellow-green for the Black Series.

The Next Chapter in Customer Racing
Building on a legacy started in 2010 with the SLS AMG GT3, Mercedes-AMG continues to lead private racing programs worldwide. With the new GT3, a dedicated subsidiary, Affalterbach Racing GmbH joins forces with Mercedes-AMG Autosport to engineer and construct the next-generation race car.
Christoph Sagemüller, Head of Mercedes-AMG Autosport, describes the development outlook:
We’re entering a new stage in testing and refinement to ensure the new GT3 doesn’t just follow our tradition in customer racing, it redefines it. Our goal is to establish fresh benchmarks in performance, safety, and competitiveness.
Christoph Sagemüller

Black Series: Race DNA for the Road
Since 2006, the Mercedes-AMG Black Series lineup has represented the culmination of racing technology adapted for everyday driving. Inspired by AMG’s motorsport heritage dating back to 1967, the engineers sought to weave race DNA into production models, a philosophy that crystallized with the SLK 55 AMG Black Series, often seen leading Formula 1® circuits as the FIA Safety Car. Internally dubbed “Track Sport” during development, the SLK project laid the groundwork for an enduring legacy of road-ready race cars. The modern Concept AMG GT Track Sport continues that lineage, blending uncompromising track performance with street legality. A tradition now carried forward by the upcoming AMG GT3 and AMG GT Black Series. Together, these two vehicles represent more than just engineering triumphs; they define the future of Mercedes-AMG performance, where the racetrack meets the open road in perfect, unapologetic harmony.
