The tour operator Liqui Moly Extreme launches a new off-road adventure for independent travelers to meet Mongolia’s legendary eagle hunters.
A tremble, a tension, the beat of wings: in a few powerful, majestic movements, the eagle soars to breathtaking heights. Sometimes it glides effortlessly, sometimes it shoots up in a sharp ascent. Carried by the wind, it waits for the perfect moment to dive toward its prey — before returning to its human companion. The eagle hunters of Mongolia have practiced this ancient tradition for thousands of years. Into the land of extremes
With Liqui Moly Extreme, adventurers can explore Mongolia like never before. Behind the wheel of a rugged 4×4, you travel from the Gobi Desert’s shifting dunes to the lush slopes of the Altai Mountains, through the untamed wilderness of Tavan-Bogd National Park, and on to Karakorum, the former capital of Genghis Khan.
Each day offers a blend of spectacular sights, hidden treasures, and rare encounters: from overnight stays with nomads and eagle hunters, to camel and horseback rides, to hikes through sand dunes and ancient volcanic landscapes.
Although the tour is designed for individual explorers, they are not entirely alone — a support vehicle with guide and cook accompanies the small group across Mongolia’s vast, remote terrain.
