Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso One: Precious Colours 2025

In 2025, Jaeger-LeCoultre unveils a brilliant new interpretation of the Reverso One Precious Colours, originally created in 2023. This exceptional timepiece, limited to only 10 pieces worldwide, is crafted in 18k white gold (750/1000) and represents a masterful blend of haute joaillerie, fine watchmaking, and timeless Art Deco aesthetics – all with a distinctively feminine spirit.

A Masterpiece from the Atelier des Métiers Rares™

At the heart of Switzerland’s Vallée de Joux, Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Manufacture is home to the exceptional Atelier des Métiers Rares™, where artistry and technical expertise meet. It is here that the Reverso One Precious Colours comes to life.

Key craftsmanship details:

  • 277 brilliant-cut diamonds, totalling 1.59 carats, set over 40 hours of gem-setting
  • Miniature Grand Feu enamel, created through 15 separate firing stages, requiring 60 hours of enameling
  • Strictly limited to 10 exclusive pieces

An Art Deco Icon Since 1931

Born on the polo fields in 1931, the Reverso quickly became an emblem of refined functionality and design. A feminine version was introduced within its first year, transforming its unique reversible case into a canvas for personal expression—through engraving, lacquer, or decorative arts.

The Reverso One Precious Colours pays direct tribute to the Art Deco movement, which took shape in the wake of World War I and gained its name from the 1925 International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in Paris. Known for its bold geometry and exuberant elegance, Art Deco celebrates structured lines and vivid colors—an aesthetic beautifully captured in this timepiece.

Grand Feu Enamel & Diamonds: A Radiant Symphony

The caseback of the Reverso One Precious Colours is adorned with a shimmering geometric motif created in Grand Feu miniature enamel and framed by rows of brilliant-cut diamonds. The design flows seamlessly across the sides of the case and onto the dial edges, requiring impeccable precision and coordination across multiple métiers.

The enameling process – layer by meticulous layer:

  1. Areas for gem-setting are precisely outlined.
  2. Remaining zones are hollowed and leveled for an even enamel surface.
  3. A transparent base glaze (fondant) is applied and kiln-fired.
  4. Two successive layers of opaque white enamel are added, each dried and fired to create a flawless painting surface.
  5. The enamel artist hand-draws the structured geometric pattern, using raised gem-set areas as anchor points to define angles and proportions—ensuring no two adjacent shapes are identical.
  6. Color is applied with a superfine brush, layer by layer, with individual firings after each application—until the desired hue and depth are achieved.

Because the design extends across both flat and convex surfaces, enamel consistency must be carefully adjusted to ensure perfect adhesion during firing. This makes the task exceptionally challenging.

Color unpredictability

Pigments based on metal oxides are blended like an artist mixes gouache. However, with the Grand Feu technique and its extreme 800°C firing temperature, final color outcomes can be unpredictable. Only years of experience allow enamelers to anticipate results with any degree of accuracy.

This case requires up to 15 firings, not including additional drying phases at 200°C—amounting to a total of 60 hours of enameling alone.

Flawless Gem-Setting on Enamel

Once the enameling is complete, the piece moves to the gem-setter’s bench. Using the grain setting technique, microscopic white gold prongs are raised to hold each diamond in place. This must be done without damaging the fragile enamel or encroaching on the enamel’s sharp, clean lines.

Setting all 277 diamonds—weighing 1.59 carats in total—requires a meticulous 40 hours of precision work.

Elegant on the Front – Breathtaking on the Back

The front of the Reverso One Precious Colours exudes refined elegance. A soft white mother-of-pearl dial offers a gentle contrast to the diamond-set gadroons and lugs, as well as the colorful enamel edges.

Flip the reversible case, and the watch transforms into a true jewel. The caseback is brought to life with six different enamel shades, all structured in a striking geometric pattern:

  • Soft pastel tones—grey, mauve, and pink—harmonize with the cool sheen of white gold.
  • Bold accents of deep purple, bright white, and vivid yellow create optical depth and movement.

Driven by Mechanical Integrity: Calibre 846

Inside, the watch is powered by the manually wound Calibre 846, entirely developed and manufactured in-house by Jaeger-LeCoultre. Specifically engineered for the Reverso’s rectangular case, it adheres to the brand’s core philosophy: mechanical integrity that complements the aesthetic vision.

A Jewel-Watch That Blends Art, Function, and Heritage

The Reverso One Precious Colours is more than a timepiece—it’s an artistic statement, a masterclass in craftsmanship, and a symbol of feminine strength and sophistication. Limited to just 10 pieces, it brings together centuries of horological expertise and artistic innovation under one roof at Jaeger-LeCoultre.
