Goldfield & Banks Unveils Rose Magnitude

Rose Magnitude marks the latest addition to the Botanical Series by Goldfield & Banks, Australia’s pioneering luxury fragrance house launched by French Belgian Dimitri Weber, known for translating vast landscapes into refined olfactory experiences.

Rose Magnitude reinterprets one of perfumery’s most iconic flowers through the lens of Australia’s otherworldly pink salt lakes, where heat shimmers against mineral-rich earth and petals seem shaped by wind rather than garden walls. The result is a study in contrasts: opulence meeting aridity, softness tempered by elemental force.

Rose Magnitude is not a traditional rose but a rose transformed by terrain. Radiant, yet weathered. Decadent, yet restrained.

A Floral of Texture and Tension

Composed by perfumer Clément Marx at Robertet, the fragrance balances impeccable French savoir-faire with raw Australian inspiration. Rather than overwhelming ornamentation, the structure feels deliberate, a rose built through texture, contrast, and precision.

The opening is vivid and unexpected. Juicy raspberry introduces a luminous sweetness, sharpened by the subtle spice of Egyptian cumin and fresh ginger. Geranium adds lift, creating an immediate sense of clarity and brightness.

At its heart lies a velvety Damask rose, enriched with violet and a trace of orris butter. Here, the rose feels plush yet controlled, less romantic bouquet, more sculpted bloom shaped by sun and salt.

The base reveals the fragrance’s true signature. Buckwheat and papyrus lend an earthy dryness, while sandalwood and amyris provide structure and depth. Black vanilla and tonka bean soften the composition with a smooth, lingering warmth that remains intimate and close to the skin. The woods stay refined and architectural, grounding the fragrance in quiet luxury.

The effect is sensual yet diffusive, a rose that leaves a presence rather than a trail.

“The fragrance is as an expression of modern luxury: clear, confident, and expressive. It is a floral shaped not by tradition, but by landscape, refined in detail yet untamed in spirit”, Founder and Artistic Director Dimitri Weber.

Born of Salt, Sky, and Magnitude

Founder and Artistic Director Dimitri Weber describes the fragrance as an expression of modern luxury: clear, confident, and expressive. It is a floral shaped not by tradition, but by landscape, refined in detail yet untamed in spirit.

Clément Marx speaks of the Australian terrain as a balance between airy brightness and earthy depth, a harmony that naturally called for sandalwood to frame a rose construction. The fragrance plays with tension: buttery orris against dry papyrus, spice softened by fruit, richness lifted by heat.

The result is an unexpected floral with remarkable depth and personality, a rose carrying the imprint of vast, sunlit horizons.
