The new Gert Voorjans’ Joy Collection, an exclusive luxury carpet collaboration with Carpet Society launching at Fuorisalone Milan 2025, blends bold colors, craftsmanship, and storytelling.
A Celebration of Nature and Design
At the heart of the Joy Collection is Vulcano, an explosion of molten reds and fiery oranges, reflecting the raw energy of nature. Handwoven from 100% New Zealand wool, it captures the essence of unrestrained passion. In contrast, Ocean evokes the serenity of rippling water and endless skies, offering a soothing interplay of blues and whites.
The collection also introduces Megalopolis, inspired by West Lake’s Unesco-listed landscapes. Crafted from hemp and cotton, it features an intricate lotus motif, symbolizing resilience and renewal. Completing the series, The Line presents a sleek geometric composition, providing a refined balance to the expressive designs.
Craftsmanship Redefined
Hand-knotted in prestigious Indian and Nepalese workshops, each Joy Collection piece is a testament to heritage and expertise. “The Line alone contains up to 80,000 hand-tied knots per square meter,” notes Pieter Bakker from Carpet Society. “This artisanal precision ensures unmatched quality and a one-of-a-kind aesthetic.”
Materials are carefully selected for both performance and beauty. “New Zealand wool delivers a pure base for vibrant colors, while jute enhances the rugs with a subtle, luxurious sheen,” explains Martin Dryon of Carpet Society.
