Sarah Poniatowski recalls the moment Xavier Peugeot, CEO of DS Automobiles, reached out via LinkedIn with a collaboration proposal: “I was at my desk and and I saw it right away. ‘Wow,’ I thought. ‘Is this real or a joke?’ I replied immediately: ‘Yes, of course—with pleasure. When shall we meet?’”

The DS 3 stands as DS Automobiles’ strategic compact SUV, blending agility, precise handling, and segment-leading comfort. Regularly refreshed through limited editions, it now channels Maison Sarah Lavoine’s contemporary art de vivre. Tailored for active, cultured clients, it links innovative engineering to an emotional, accessible luxury experience.

It really is a crowning achievement to create a car. Apart from the fact that I personally love cars, when one brand joins forces with another brand to create a car, it’s almost like winning a César. It means entering history, and I’m very proud of that.” -Sarah Poniatowski, President and Designer of Maison Sarah Lavoine

This partnership flows naturally from two French icons united by elegance, boldness, and craftsmanship. DS Automobiles Director General Xavier Peugeot praises the alliance as a celebration of national excellence. Sarah Poniatowski, Maison Sarah Lavoine’s creator, describes it as an emotional dream in motion, infusing the DS 3 with her signature colors, textures, and inspiring ethos.

“We are delighted that DS Automobiles is once again celebrating French excellence through this collaboration with Maison Sarah Lavoine on an exclusive DS 3 Maison Sarah Lavoine collection, driven by a shared vision of ‘beauty that does good.’” Xavier Peugeot, Chief Executive Officer of DS Automobiles

Exterior Sophistication

The collection dazzles in four curated shades: deep Vert Émeraude, Noir Perla Nera, Bleu Lazurite, and Cristal Pearl, all with standard bi-tone treatments. A exclusive Crème Pathénon roof pairs with the first three, while Cristal Pearl contrasts with Noir Perla Nera. Signature Bleu Sarah accents stripe the roof, custodes, and trunk lid, complemented by 18-inch wheels toned to the roof and a unique hood badge for instant recognizability.

“This collaboration between Maison Sarah Lavoine and DS Automobiles has, for me, the softness of a dream, in which design becomes an emotion in motion. I want it to feel like a jewel box, a little jewel — really something special.” -Sarah Poniatowski

Throughout the car, an interwoven monogram of two “S”s representing Sarah forms a subtle “M,” a nod to the Maison.

Interior Serenity Cocoon

Entry reveals threshold plates inscribed with Sarah Poniatowski’s name and “Le beau fait du bien,” welcoming you into a warm haven. Alcantara Noir upholstery sports subtle MSL logo embroidery on headrests, plus crème and blue topstitching. Dashboard and door panels feature crème welting, with facing MSL embroidery for passengers. A streamlined central console amplifies space and harmony

I don’t create design or houses just for the sake of it, or for photos. I create interiors and designs to be lived in. I pay very close attention to making sure people feel good in what I create.” -Sarah Poniatowski

Multi-Energy Versatility

Opt for the 145 hp auto-rechargeable hybrid, slashing CO2 by up to 20 percent and enabling over half of city drives emission-free. Or select the E-TENSE 100 percent electric with 396 km WLTP range on 18-inch wheels, 156 hp, 260 Nm torque, and three modes, all French-assembled for whisper-quiet dynamism.

Tech and Comfort Pinnacle

Generous kit includes hands-free proximity access, 360-degree parking aids, blind-spot vigilance, wireless charging, and heated front seats. Noble finishes, vibrant hues, and artful details elevate every journey to a serene luxury interlude.

My car is like a second home. I create homes, and this car is like a second home. So here, it really is a cocoon — you feel good in it, you feel reassured, safe. It has this comfort, this elegance, these little details that make all the difference.” -Sarah Poniatowski

Legacy of Lifestyle Partnerships

DS Automobiles has engaged in a remarkably wide range of lifestyle collaborations over the years, particularly in the fields of fashion, beauty, design, gastronomy and watchmaking. In 2016, DS launched the DS 3 Givenchy Le MakeUp, a limited edition created in collaboration with Givenchy Le MakeUp, featuring a practical armrest designed to store your makeup. Earlier still, the brand teamed up with Inès de la Fressange Paris: first as a concept in 2014, then as the production version of the DS 3 Inès de la Fressange Paris in 2015, and later again with the DS 3 Crossback Inès de la Fressange Paris in 2020.
DS has also been active in the fashion world for years through Paris Fashion Week, as an official partner since 2019. Within that context, DS has also taken part in more specific creative collaborations, including a shoot with Balmain, a scenographic collaboration with Coperni during Paris Fashion Week in 2021, and the DS Conscious Collection with EGONlab and Post Carbon Lab, a capsule collection of CO₂-absorbing garments.

In watchmaking and high-end design, DS collaborated with B.R.M Chronographes, which developed exclusive dashboard timepieces for DS models, including the B.R.M R180 watch for the DS 7. Focal Electra also belongs to that premium lifestyle universe through its high-end in-car audio systems.

On a broader art de vivre and hospitality level, DS also highlights partnerships on its website with Nespresso, La Malle Bernard, La Tour d’Argent and the Louvre Museum. These collaborations underline how DS positions itself not merely as a car manufacturer, but as a French luxury brand with a strong cultural and lifestyle identity.
