Club Med is raising the stakes in premium travel with the launch of its first Exclusive Collection resort in Thailand, a new beachfront address on Koh Samui designed to bring a more refined and intimate version of island luxury. Set to open in the second half of 2028, the resort marks a significant step in the brand’s luxury strategy, combining Club Med’s signature all inclusive model with a more elevated sense of place.
Located on the north coast of Koh Samui, the resort will feature a private beach of more than 200 meters and a setting shaped by the island’s natural beauty and Thai heritage. Just a 25 minute drive from the airport, the property is being positioned as a contemporary retreat with 303 rooms, offering easy access without sacrificing serenity. The design aims to balance local character with a polished, modern aesthetic.
Club Med’s Exclusive Collection is built around a softer interpretation of luxury, one centered on intimacy, personal service, and a festive but relaxed atmosphere. The Koh Samui resort will follow that formula with breakfast in the room, attentive service, curated experiences, and spaces dedicated to rest and well being. The brand is clearly leaning into a style of hospitality that feels thoughtful rather than ostentatious.
The new resort is planned as a destination where guests can move fluidly between leisure and activity. Water sports, beachside pursuits, family programs, and restaurant concepts inspired by local flavors will all be part of the experience. Club Med’s signature Kids Club and Amazing Family program are also set to anchor the property’s appeal for multigenerational travelers.

Koh Samui is more than a single opening for Club Med, it is a signal of where the brand is heading. The project becomes the company’s second resort in Thailand and its third Exclusive Collection property in the East and South Asia Pacific region, underscoring a wider push into premium and experience driven travel. Executives say the expansion reflects both strong global demand and a commitment to positive local impact through responsible tourism and employment.
The redevelopment will include renovated rooms, upgraded shared spaces, and a stronger overall guest experience, all shaped by the island’s scenery and cultural identity. That approach places the resort squarely in the intersection of luxury and authenticity, where travelers increasingly want a sense of destination rather than just accommodation. When it opens, Club Med Exclusive Collection Koh Samui is expected to become one of the brand’s most closely watched addresses in Asia.
