Apart from the ‘Les Escales’ cologne series of Dior and Tendre Poison (that is the lighter green version from the nineties) we always had trouble finding a perfume in the Dior range that meets our wishes. Even a best selling fragrance as J’adore wasn’t a match. Most of the time we find the Dior perfumes too overpowering or to powdery to our taste. The new Joy by Dior eau de parfum has changed all that. This pink juice really is a joy!

‘Joy by Dior’ expresses a special feeling of joy based on an olfactory interpretation of light by Dior Perfumer-Creator François Demachy. The eau de parfum is composed of multiple nuances and facets that lead to a crystal clear scented expression. An Eau de Parfum illuminated by the vibrant smile of flowers and citrus fruits, the smooth caress of woods and the serenity of musks.
When you spray the perfume on your skin and you smell it it’s like putting your nose in a fresh flower bouquet. In the top you find zested bergamot and mandarin heightened by aldehydes, which all unite to make flowers soar. Rose, in both essence and absolute form, as well as heady jasmine, blend with these juicy fruits in a vibrant way.
More evolving to the heart and the base of this perfume you will feel enveloped and caressed by a delightfully smooth and milky wood. This warm and creamy sandalwood is a mellow embrace, sustained by a slight touch of cedar and a hint of patchouli.
From among the large Musk family, François Demachy played with a careful selection of notes, ma non troppo, to envelop the whole in a light, powdery breath of air. Evanescent musks encounter the woods and flowers that fill them out and personify them. The effect is one of tender skin-to-skin contact, like an intimate, softly sensual signature. A perfume that smells of joy!
