Hermès takes us on a boat to Venice

Un Jardin sur la Lagune, the newest perfume for men and women in the ‘jardin’ range from Hermès, is inspired on the annual theme Hermès has chosen and lets us embark for a trip on the water to a secret garden in Venice… a hidden gem behind closed walls.

Text and pictures Anja Van Der Borght

Hermès perfumer Christine Nagel got inspired by this Venetian garden owned by an English lord at the end of the 19thcentury. This private garden, the biggest in Venice, that has stood still in time, is simple in all its splendor and an inexaustible source of new discoveries.

For her first jardin-perfume Nagel chose a soft and succulent fragrance composition with a hint of nostalgia but without sadness. A perfume inspired on a garden where the samphire bends with the wind, and pittosporum, madonna lilies and magnolias bloom. A perfume that seems light the first seconds but little by little woody accords evaporate and a dreamy, salty sea breeze rocks you by its scented waves. A maritime and sunny fragrance that puts a smile on your face.

The illustration on the packaging is made by Safet Zec a Bosnian artist and established Venetian.

For sale from 4thof March onwards in your perfumerie and in the Hermès boutique in Brussels.
